The British National Space Centre (BNSC) is a voluntary partnership, formed from 10 Government Departments and Research Councils, to coordinate UK civil space activity.

Launched from Kennedy Space Center on Oct. 15, 1997, the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft will reach the Saturnian region in July 2004. The mission is composed of two elements: The Cassini orbiter that will orbit Saturn and its moons for four years, and the Huygens probe that will dive into the murky atmosphere of Titan and land on its surface.

Upon arrival at Jupiter in December 1995, the Galileo spacecraft delivered a probe that descended into the giant planet's atmosphere. Since then the orbiter has completed many flybys of Jupiter's major moons, reaping a variety of science discoveries. The mission ended in Sept. 21, 2003 when the spacecraft plunged into Jupiter's atmosphere.

The Voyager 1 spacecraft, the world's most distant traveler, is moving ever closer to the edge of our solar system. JPL-managed telescopes, on the ground and in space, are peering into the cosmos beyond, studying distant galaxies, searching for Earth-like planets and learning more about the origins of the universe.
